Betty Sue O'Brian is a Traditional Naturopath, practicing Iridologist and Sclerologist, author, and educator with decades of experience helping others understand and apply the principles of natural health. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the International Iridology Practitioners Association (IIPA) and previously served the organization as both President and Past President. She is also a Diplomat Instructor for IIPA and a Certified Master Sclerologist through the International Sclerology Institute.
A student of Dr. Farida Sharan at the Boulder School of Natural Medicine, Betty Sue earned certification as a Master Iridologist and was trained in the traditions of renowned iridologists including Josef Deck, Dorothy Hall, Theodor Kriege, and Josef Angerer. She has also studied with Dr. Bernard Jensen and continued her education through advanced workshops with Denny Johnson, creator of the Rayid System, and Danielle LoRito in Time Risk Analysis.
In addition to her extensive training in the natural health sciences, Betty Sue holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in English, along with undergraduate studies in nutrition and science. She is the author of several textbooks and educational resources and has taught students throughout the United States, making complex concepts practical and accessible for both practitioners and individuals seeking greater understanding of their health.
As a lecturer and instructor, Betty Sue is passionate about empowering people to take an active role in their healing journey. Her approach emphasizes that true wellness is achieved through an integrated, balanced lifestyle incorporating nutrition, herbs, energy work, essential oils, and other natural health modalities. In her iridology classes, she teaches according to IIPA's current educational standards while helping students better understand the unique story revealed within the iris.
