Anita "Trixie" Barnett, Vice President

Trixie BarnettAnita, or Trixie as she is more affectionately known, is a registered nurse, registered cardiovascular ultrasonographer, traditional naturopath and is an IIPA Certified Comprehensive Iridologist (CCI). She is also a massage and body work practitioner and has a practice where she incorporates not only iridology, but nutritional counseling, stress management and color therapy into a combined program for her clients. Trixie has served on the Board of Directors of IIPA since 2004, and currently serves as Secretary. She maintains her nursing license even though she has left the allopathic field behind and stays current with her registries in diagnostic ultrasound. Her ultrasound work is limited only to the veterinary field these days where she is involved with a research project for dogs and cats. She is an active member of the American Holistic Medical Association.

Trixie is a strong advocate of all components of the natural health field, and believes there is a growing need for standards in all areas of this fast growing industry. She sees IIPA as the leader in setting this standard in iridology so she devotes her time, energy and expertise to promoting, supporting and improving the organization and the field itself.

Beyond her nursing education, she attended the Birmingham School of Clinical Massage, now known as The Red Mountain Institute for the Healing Arts, for her massage and bodywork training and Trinity College of Natural Health for her Doctorate of Naturopathy.

Trixie resides in Birmingham, Alabama where she enjoys hiking, biking, kayaking and spending time with her friends and family. She is currently employed with Clayton College of Natural Health and is the Registrar and Director of Records there.
